April 1st! Taísa Moura and Katia Petersen are fired from TV Santa Cruz
Amidst its 40th anniversary celebrations, Rede Bahia also decided to cut some long-standing ties with its team. After 14 years at the station, reporter Taísa Moura, a well-known face at TV Santa Cruz, the station’s affiliate in southern Bahia, was let go from the company.
On her official Instagram profile, through stories, the journalist made a long outburst and made it clear that she was surprised by the dismissal. “I wish it was an April Fools’ joke. But it’s not! After 14 years working as a reporter at TV Santa Cruz, I’m announcing my departure from the company,” she began by thanking everyone for their time at the channel.

And my gratitude to all partners, sources and viewers for the relationship of trust, affection and for the audience”, he declared when revealing the justification he received for his departure “And oh… before you ask me the reason: they claimed restructuring on TV!”.
In addition to Taísa, fellow reporter Katia Petersen was also dismissed from TV Santa Cruz. In an internal statement sent to employees, which BNews had access to, editor-in-chief Rinara Luz thanked the duo for their services.
“They have made significant contributions to building our journalism. Both have participated in projects and in some of the most significant news coverage in the country, through Rede Bahia. We thank them both for the journey they have taken thus far and wish them success in their future projects.”
